I’m old school, but prefer the 60 to the 62... sue me.

I’ve heard of people converting a 62 to a 60: round headlights, manual transmission, so they get the fuel injection and better frame of the 62.
Frankly I wouldn’t kick either one out of bed, although obviously the manual is far more appealing. I’ve long thought that an FJ-40/FJ-60 would be a nice alternative to a Wrangler/XJ combination in my driveway.

Heretic!
Yeah, I’ve got a 60 back behind the shop with a seized carbureted “F” in it. It’s most definitely occurred to me to install my spare 3FE, add a bit of compression, and keep it pretty much stock-ish but with the fuel injection.
That would be a killer combination.

(And then sell it to me.)

I may do that. I have too many Land Cruisers and that 60 is absolutely rust-free.
My heart is just a little sad at “150HP”... the compression on those F motors is all absurdly low.
OTOH, I did a little happy dance when it was pointed out that the bell and clutch from a 60 bolt right up to 3F-E.

“ I have too many Land Cruisers”
I’d like to have that problem!

Maybe... but it’s also kind of a curse. I was buying up “needs a new motor” LC’s for awhile, but I ran out of motor-swap momentum.
